More about our village

Llano de los Olleres Plaza & Church

Casa Montana Vista bed and breakfast is situated in the village of Llanos De Los Olleres pronounced "yano de lo ollere" meaning plain of the potters. We are surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery found in southern Spain, the village being surrounded by olive, orange, lemon and almond groves.  We have some wonderful walks and cycle paths and ramblas for the more energetic with the fantastic views of the Saliente mountains as a back drop.

We have made many Spanish friends since moving into the village and restoring what we and our clients now think is a comfortable Spanish home and Bed and Breakfast.

We have a bakers, post office/shop, cafe bar, and bus service to Albox and further afield if required.  Most of our neighbours make their living by either growing crops of almonds, oranges, lemons, grapes and olives or rearing goats for their milk and cheese.  There are other family run industries connected with the painting and building trade which we are sure you are aware of is a thriving industry throughout Spain.

The village is situated within easy reach of the town of Albox with all the amenities of everyday life from internet cafes, supermarkets to clothes shops, bars, restaurants and hardware stores. We are only a five minute drive away from the centre.

Plaza Nuevo Christmas Fiesta,Albox

If you are touring the area or taking a day or two away from viewing your new home, there are a number of places of interest you might like to visit.

We are aproximately eighty minutes from the city of Almeria with its busy shopping malls and its coast.

Just over ninty five minutes drive to the city of Granada and the Alambra Palace, make sure you book in advance.  Also the moorish colony of Albaicin built in 1568 is on a sister hill to La Alhambra and the Palace of Charles V .

Mini Hollywood, where all the famous spaghetti westerns were filmed, is just over half an hours drive away.  Why not take a day away in western style, dress in traditional costume, visit the renowned zoo or have a swim in the water park on the complex?  There are many daily shows to watch with some wonderful acting ,or maybe try your hand at a shoot out.

We have a water park within half an hours drive, great fun for all the family.

The beaches and harbours at Garrucha and Mojacar are within easy reach and are about twenty five minutes away with all the sea front fish restaraunts, boats and many beaches stretching along the coast line.  Sea fishing from the marina is a favorite pastime of the Spanish people in the area with some great fish being caught all year round.

Five minutes away from us we have a tennis club incorperating a swimming pool,Volleyball, Basketball, Gymnasium and Bar/Restaurant.

If you prefer a walk or cycling we have some breath taking mountain scenery walks and rides from outside our front door.  The Saliente mountains are about 20 minutes drive from our guest house.  Once at the top you will see some spectacular views of the surrounding villages, Albox, the almond groves and the monastery of Saint Saliente which is well worth a visit.  There are many "ramblas", dried up river beds, for the more adventurous to explore, and for the less energetic many paths and roads around our village and further afield with orange, lemon, olive, grapes and fig groves in abundance to explore.
